You

"You wish to listen to a concert, or a play or the news: you turn the control on your radio until you find the station broadcasting the concert, the play or the news. In the same way, on your inner radio, it is possible for you to choose the programmes you want to hear. But capturing the wavelengths of the spiritual world requires a whole training; otherwise, when you expect to receive melodies from heaven, what you will hear are the cries and din of hell. If that happens, do not stay there and do nothing, quickly change the wavelength; use thought, use imagination, to tune in to another station. What is prayer? It is turning the control to the shortest and fastest wavelengths, which put us in touch with the divine world."
Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov

If you believe as I believe,

If you believe as I believe,
that the waters of the world are the overflowing bounty of life emanating from God’s love, then the pollution of oceans, seas, and rivers is a sin, as we are corrupting the source of all life and love.
If you believe as I believe,
that the air we must breathe is part of the very nature of life on land and sea, then the pollution of the skies is a sin, and we are corrupting the foundation of our very existence.
If you believe as I believe,
that the earth we live upon is sacred ground for ourselves and the generations to come, then the pollution of the earth is a sin, and we are corrupting the ground we tread, the soil we sow for food, the rock on which we make our home.
If you believe as I believe,
that the world in modern life, with its wonders and dangers, is part of the evolution of life and humanity toward its Source, then pollution of water, air, and earth is a crime against ourselves and a blasphemy against creation, of which we are all guilty, all sinners.
May God forgive us, and may we learn to live in peace and harmony with our world and with each other regardless what our thoughts are.
Amen.

where did your multi gods come from?

Does [the Muslim's God] Allah, live only in the mosque?

Does [the Zoroastrian's God] Ahura Mazda, live only in the fire temple?

Does [the Hebrew's God] Jehovah, live only in the Church? Is [the Hindu's God] Ram, only in idols and holy grounds?

Have you searched and found Him there?
You imagine that Hari is in the East, Allah is in the West; Ahura Mazda in the North and Jehovah in the South !

But search for God only in the heart-that is where God is.
Which, then, is false, the Quran or the Vedas? The Avesta or the Bible ?

False is the man who does not see the Truth.
It is One;The unity of God
Says the mystic: 0 Lord, every man and every woman are Your own forms;
I am the simple Servant of God

Brother,Sisters where did your multi gods come from? Ram, Allah; Ahura, Jehovah; Hari, Hazrat-so many names!
There may be many golden ornaments, but there is one gold; it has no multi elements in it.

Just One.

God's Cake.

Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve this", or "Why did God have to do this to me". Here is a wonderful explanation:
A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.
Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake." "Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers. "Yuck" says her daughter. "How about a couple raw eggs?" "Gross, Mom!" "Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?" "Mom, those are all yucky!" To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!"
God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!
God loves his servants . He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning. Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen.
God is nearer to you than your jugular vein. I hope your day is a "piece of cake!"

Let nothing disturb you.

Let nothing disturb you.Let nothing frighten you.All things are passing;God only is changeless.Patience gains all things.Who has God wants nothing.God alone suffices.

“Do not praise your own faith exclusively, so that you disbelieve all the rest. If you do this, you will miss much good – nay, you will miss the whole truth of the matter. God the omniscient and omnipresent cannot be confined to any one creed, for He says, ’Wheresoever ye turn, there is the face of God.’”

The mystic Master and the Madman!

It is related that the Sufi Master,Shaykh Junayd , once went for a walk outside of town, his disciples following him. The master then asked them how Bahlul was. They answered, “He is a crazy person, what do you need from him?”

“Bring me to him because I have a need for him,” he said.

The students searched for Bahlul, whose reputation was that of a mad mystic, and found him in the desert. They took Shaykh Junayd to him. When Shaykh Junayd went near Bahlul, he saw Bahlul lying in a state of agitation, with a brick under his head for a pillow. The Shaykh greeted him with the salutation of peace.

Bahlul answered with peace, and asked, “Who are you?”“I am Junayd.”Bahlul asked, “Are you the Shaykh Junayd?”“Yes!” replied the Shaykh.“Are you the same Shaykh Junayd who gives people spiritual instructions?”“Yes!”

Then Bahlul asked, “Do you even know how to eat?”“Yes!” answered Junayd. “I say (In the Name of God). I eat what is in front of me, I take small bites, put them in the right side of my mouth, and slowly chew. I don’t stare at others’ bites. I remember God while eating. For whatever morsel I eat, I say (Praise be to God). I wash my hands before and after eating.”

Bahul stood up and shook the dirt of his garment on the Shaykh, and said, “You want to be the spiritual teacher of the world but you don’t even know how to eat.” Saying this, he walked away.

The mystic’s students said, “O Shaykh! He is a crazy person. Let him be”Junayd replied, “He is a madman who is spiritually intelligent in his words. Listen to the correct statements from him.”

Saying this he went after Bahlul, saying, “I have a need for Bahlul.”When Bahlul reached a deserted building he sat down. Junayd came near him.Bahlul asked, “Who are you?”“Shaykh Junayd who doesn’t even know how to eat.”“You don’t know how to eat, but do you know how to talk?”“Yes.”“How do you talk?”

“I talk in moderation and to the point. I don’t speak without purpose or too much. I speak so the listeners can understand. I call the world’s people towards God and the Prophet. I don’t talk so much that the people would get bored. I care about the deepness of inner and outer knowledge.”Then he described whatever was connected with manners and etiquette.

Bahlul said, “Forget about eating, you don’t know how to talk either.”He stood up, shook his garment on the Shaykh and walked away.

The students said, “O Shaykh! You saw, he is a crazy person. What do you expect from a lunatic!”Shaykh said, “I have a need for him. You do not know.”

Again he went after Bahlul until he reached him.Bahlul asked, “What do you want from me? You who don’t know the manners of eating and speaking; do you know how to sleep?”“Yes, I know.”“How do you sleep?” Bahlul asked.

“When I am finished with prayer and reciting supplications, I don my sleepwear.” Then he described the manners of sleeping which were transmitted to him by the learned people of religion.

Bahlul then said: “I understand that you do not know how to sleep either.”He wanted to get up, but Junayd caught hold of his garment and said, “O Bahlul! I don’t know; so for the sake of God, teach me.”

Bahlul said “You claimed knowledge and said you knew so I was avoiding you. Now that you confessed your lack of knowledge, I will teach you.”

“Know that whatever you described is secondary,” said Bahlul.“The truth behind eating meals is that you eat lawful morsels. If you eat forbidden food even with one hundred kinds of good manners, it won’t benefit you, but will be the reason for blackening the heart.”

“May God grant you great reward.” remarked the Shaykh.

Bahlul continued, “The heart must be pure, and have good intentions before you begin to talk. And your conversation must be to please God. If it is for any worldly or useless work, then however you express yourself, it will become a calamity for you. That is why silence and quietude would be best.”

“Whatever you said about sleeping is also of secondary importance. The truth of it is that your heart should be free of enmity, jealousy, and hate. Your heart should not be greedy for this world or its wealth, and remember God when going to sleep.”Sheikh Junayd then kissed Bahlul’s hand and prayed for him. The students who saw this incident and had thought that Bahlul was crazy and nothing more, realized the error of judging by appearances and their spiritual states increased.

The purple zebra and the Mule

The purple zebra dances to the song of the long Moon.Staring into the clear darkness, the beaten mule continues on its arduous journey.Rejected by the donkey and the horse, the mule is never accepted for what it truly is.The purple zebra is surrounded by the townspeople, captivating those foolish ones. All the while, the mule continues up and down the mountain valleys bringing all of the town’s supplies, so that the people may survive.Having spent many years in the desert wastes, being burned by the fires of Love…The purple zebra is free from the mistakes of the townspeople,it is a true lover of the long Moon. It is deaf and blind to their praise and presence. It is only natural for these people, who are lost in the clear darkness to become attracted to this beautiful flame when it arrives. The mule was forgotten long before the purple zebra arrived… never having a place of recognition to begin with. All the townspeople surround the purple zebra like bees around the Queen’s hive, dancing in joy and forgetfulness…Though it may seem the mule is the forgotten, it is really those occupied people who are forgotten… and limited.Unwavering in its efforts, the worn old mule continues to serve the people, beaten and exhausted… it never forgets to give thanks to theOne who remembers him. The One who has made him His…and His alone.- by Atabek, dedicated to Sheikh Abul Abbas al-Mursi (rahmatullaalaih). May God sanctify his soul.Note: This story/poem was sent by a young friend of mine, and is a good reminder of the two kinds of true seekers, the silent ones in the backround who do the work, and the visible ones who attract attention. Both serve a purpose. It is good to remember that for every Sufi saint that has been written about, there are many others whose names no one knows but God.

What about you ?

A Bedouin was walking with his dog in the desert, carrying a leather skin of water on his shoulder, and crying pitifully as he went along.

When asked why he was crying, he replied, “Because my dog is dying of thirst!” “Why don’t you give him some of your water, then?” the person said.“Because I might need it for myself.”

So it is with many who aspire to the Path of Love. They enjoy reading spiritual books, and hearing spiritual music, and listening to spiritual people who give talks, and they like calling themselves devout, religious; sanctimonious, self-righteous but when it comes time to put it into practice, their self-absorbed ego, has second thoughts.

A symbolic conversation

A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?" God said, "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you." The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy." God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy." Again the small child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?" God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak." "And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?" God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray." "Who will protect me?" God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life." "But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore." God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you." At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name." God said, You will simply call her, "Mom."

"Your Heaven lies under the feet of your mother"

Rose

Red roses were her favorites, her name was also Rose. And every year her husband sent them, tied with pretty bows. The year he died, the roses were delivered to her door. The card said, "Be my Valentine", like all the years before. Each year he sent her roses, and the note would always say, "I love you even more this year, than last year on this day. My love for you will always grow, with every passing year."

She knew this was the last time that the roses would appear. She thought, he ordered roses in advance before this day. Her loving husband did not know, that he would pass away. He always liked to do things early, way before the time. Then, if he got too busy, everything would work out fine. She trimmed the stems, and placed them in a very special vase. Then, sat the vase beside the portrait of his smiling face. She would sit for hours, in her husband's favorite chair. While staring at his picture, and the roses sitting there.

A year went by, and it was hard to live without her mate. With loneliness and solitude, that had become her fate. Then, the very hour, as on Valentines before, The doorbell rang, and there were roses, sitting by her door. She brought the roses in, and then just looked at them in shock. Then, went to get the telephone, to call the florist shop. The owner answered, and she asked him, if he would explain, Why would someone do this to her, causing her such pain? "I know your husband passed away, more than a year ago," The owner said, "I knew you'd call, and you would want to know. The flowers you received today, were paid for in advance. Your husband always planned ahead, he left nothing to chance. There is a standing order, that I have on file down here, And he has paid, well in advance, you'll get them every year. There also is another thing, that I think you should know, He wrote a special little card...he did this years ago. Then, should ever I find out that he's no longer here, That's the card...that should be sent, to you the following year."

She thanked him and hung up the phone, her tears now flowing hard. Her fingers shaking, as she slowly reached to get the card. Inside the card, she saw that he had written her a note. Then, as she stared in total silence, this is what he wrote... "Hello my love, I know it's been a year since I've been gone, I hope it hasn't been too hard for you to overcome. I know it must be lonely, and the pain is very real. For if it was the other way, I know how I would feel. The love we shared made everything so beautiful in life. I loved you more than words can say, you were the perfect wife. You were my friend and lover, you fulfilled my every need. I know it's only been a year, but please try not to grieve. I want you to be happy, even when you shed your tears. That is why the roses will be sent to you for years. When you get these roses, think of all the happiness, That we had together, and how both of us were blessed. I have always loved you and I know I always will. But, my love, you must go on, you have some living still. Please...try to find happiness, while living out your days. I know it is not easy, but I hope you find some ways. The roses will come every year, and they will only stop, When your door's not answered, when the florist stops to knock. He will come five times that day, in case you have gone out. But after his last visit, he will know without a doubt, To take the roses to the place, where I've instructed him, And place the roses where we are, together once again.

Sometimes in life, you find a special friend; Someone who changes your life just by being part of it. Someone who makes you laugh until you can't stop; Someone who makes you believe that there really is good in the world. Someone who convinces you that there really is an unlocked door just waiting for you to open it. This is Forever Friendship.
